ACCOUNTANT SUCCESS STORY – BUILDING AN OFFSHORE TEAM WITH ENTIGRITY

Have you heard of any accounting firm which has 45 employees stateside, but all of them are spread across the country? A 100% virtual accounting firm of this size?

Summit CPA, a VCFO Firm which has only a handful of its staff working from Fort Wayne headquarters. Summit is also known as the accounting firm of the future. But it’s founding partner & problem solver Adam Hale calls it a cliché and dubs Summit CPA as the firm of today.

Summit CPA has been with Entigrity for more than a year. Here’s an excerpt of his interview with us:

Adam: “Our journey to become 100% virtual started 4-5 years ago. Since then, we have been focusing on providing primarily VCFO services, 401(k) audits, CPA firm augmentation, etc.

Even though we have staff in nearly every state in the US, we faced challenges in staffing and tried outsourcing as a solution. But, it turned out to be quite a nightmare. It was a black-box where you have no idea who is working for you, zero consistency in quality of work, deadlines don’t remain sacrosanct, coordinating with the vendor was a major challenge. As a result, we completely gave up the idea.

This is when I met Shawn from Entigrity offshore staffing at Accounting & Finance Show New York in 2018. For around a year Shawn kept following up, but we kept on procrastinating the decision to even explore what they had to offer. At Accounting Show 2019, again I met Shawn and Chris, this time learned even more about them, and scheduled a zoom meeting to learn more about offshore staffing and how it’s different from outsourcing.

We started with hiring just 1 offshore staff to check it out. Soon, we hired a few more staff members and today, Entigrity is a key partner of Summit CPA where we have our organizational structure customized to leverage our team of offshore staff.

We have 12 VCFOs today and 24 senior accountants who report to them and each senior accountant has at least 1 offshore staff to assist them. With the added cost advantage, we are able to expand our clientele and in turn it is fueling hiring of both on-shore as well as offshore staff. We anticipate adding 5-10 on-shore and offshore staff every year.”
