Congrats Julie Smith for getting awarded with 1st Position for Innovative Practitioner by CPA.com. Julie Smith is the driving force behind Harper & Co.'s efficiency, technology, and revenue growth.

In 2017, the firm chose to reevaluate their client relationships and shift away from transactional compliance work and toward consulting services. Julie combined the new style of working with new technology, expanding their tech stack to include powerful practise management, document management, and research tools.

When the pandemic struck, the 12-person firm was able to complete all of its regular tax work of 1100 returns as well as an additional 72 PPP loan engagements without skipping a beat. Since 2017, the firm's growth has tripled without hiring new employees.

Julie now assists their clients on a higher level and travels throughout the country to engage with other companies to assist them in transitioning from transactional compliance work to proactive advising services.
